A journey through three decades

The year is 1991 and Janne is driving a courier van for a well-known haulier. Deliveries are many and not all parcels reach their recipients on time. But for Janne, the problem isn’t having too much work – it’s not being allowed to work as long as he wants. After a discussion with his employer, Janne decides to quit – a decision he never regretted, and one that marked the beginning of Halmstads Delivery. Now, over 30 years later, and with more than 60 employees, Janne’s motto is more relevant than ever: always put the customer first!

1992 – Janne starts Halmstads Delivery. His mother Rosie acts as guarantor and Janne buys his first delivery van, a Ford Transit. The first delivery is a washing machine to Ljungby.

1993 – More customers arrive, and Janne buys a Ford Escort so friends can help with deliveries.

1994 – Delivery’s fleet grows to four vans, and Janne is lucky to have many friends willing to lend a hand.
A garage in the Larsfrid area is acquired to house the expanding fleet.

1995 – The company expands into distribution by taking over vehicles from a bankrupt competitor.
Through this acquisition, Delivery gains its first six employees. A new office opens on Gjutaregatan in Halmstad.

1996–1999 – The company grows and thrives. Many have now heard of Janne’s dedication and reliability.
Delivery expands both organically and by acquiring routes and territories from competitors.

2000–2005 – Major new clients such as DHL, PNL (Bring), UPS and Tågpaket choose Delivery as their supplier.

2006 – Halmstads Delivery acquires the Kistinge terminal (1 200 m²). At this time, the company has 10 employees.

2007–2011 – The company signs a cooperation agreement with DSV and experiences strong growth during this period.

2012 – Halmstads Delivery wins the public procurement for coordinated goods distribution for Halmstad Municipality.

2013–2018 – The business continues to grow with both small and large clients.

2019 – A major partnership with Bring begins, making home deliveries a key part of operations.

2020 – Plans and strategies are developed to build a modern logistics centre to meet customers’ growing needs.

2021–2022 – Construction begins, and in December 2022 the new 6 000 m² logistics centre on Kistingevägen 6 is completed. Delivery can now offer services across the entire logistics chain – from transport to terminal and warehousing. Janne’s 40 trucks are always ready for new deliveries.
